Fascia Release
Tuesday evenings 5:30-6:45pm and Wednesdays 10-11:15am

This class works on releasing and activating various fascia lines from the feet through the torso and neck. Using balls, foam rollers and elements of Thomas Hanna's Myth of Aging series, we will use gentle and slow movements to reactivate fascia. Each class ends with work on re-patterning our standing and walking habits for more cohesive movement.

Fascia is everywhere in your body and can become stiff after injuries, surgery, or bad posture habits. Regaining whole body range of motion and ease of movement is achieved when we learn how to activate dormant fascia connections. Results can be felt immediately but regular fascia work has a cumulative effect. Beginners, hardcore athletes and the elderly are welcome.

Instructor Kimmer Morris is training to become a Hanna Somatics Educator and has been able to reverse nerve damage and avoid spine surgery as a result of this work. She feels 15 years younger and has regained the ability to do her favorite athletic activities after suffering many years of chronic and debilitating pain.

Natalie Pace will be an occasional guest teacher and has over 16 years experience with the functions of the body through many lenses including somatics, posture, martial arts, yoga, meditative arts and fitness, always looking for ways to integrate the body into one undivided whole. She is also certified to teach The Realization Process, Fascial Fitness and Postural Alignment. Her training focuses on the relationship of the brain to the moving body, and her work integrates the relationships of muscles, bones and fascia into a coherent and intelligent whole.
